A lady friend asked me for the use of my truck and some sweat to help her get a load of mulch and pavers this morning for her house . I gladly helped her out with the promise of a nice lunch along the Susquehanna river and permission to detect around her house which was built in 1781 . Not sure if the house had been detected before as I didn't find much silver but a lot of clad and an old button made an appearance . Well there was a least one silver and it was pretty big . I can now cross off a Barber Half on my list :headbang: 100_0659.webp100_0661.webp100_0664.webp
Not sure on the button as im not a button guy but if anyone has an idea let me know100_0655.webp100_0665.webp
After half a day of roaming around on her lawn and digging what seemed like a 100 holes I headed down the road to a small park that is along the river in the town she lives in.
Nothing to exciting other then a tootsie truck and an old dog tag along with another bunch of clad and a whole lot of odds and ends .100_0669.webp100_0666.webp
Got home right at dark after a full day and just dumped everything on the table . Picked out what I knew was cool and took a group shot of the rest . I probably left some good stuff in the pile but im toasted like the IHs I have been digging lately . If I find some other goodies when I clean my stuff tomorrow ill post it then 100_0670.webp

incredible digs!!! congrats

Sweet barber Half. Gotta love that.

That's a lot of targets. Congrats on the bucket list Barber half :occasion14:

WOW what an impressive day of digging, I would have crawled back to my jeep after a day like that

I pretty much did .... thank goodness I found at least 6 or 7 clad pocket spills . All the keys were in one hole an a couple of the toy cars were together . But ya that's a lot of digging in about 10 hrs

Holy cow, awesome big silver! Congrats, that's a great silver to dig.

I'm jealous of the number of things you dug up. I tried three sites today, it was pretty bad. I wound up with a 1981 dime and one lonely wheat penny in five hours of digging.

Good to see someone else making finds along the Susquehanna.

I might sneak back down to the river to watch the General Clinton Canoe Regatta this weekend . Sit on the above mentioned lady friends deck which overlooks the river and watch the canoes go by . With an adult beverage or two :occasion14: and mabey wave hello as they pass:hello:

Wow, amazing Half :treasurechest::thumbsup:

Very nice silver. Sounds like it could be a great site

That Half is a GREAT silver save !!! I've only ever found one and still recall how pumped up I was after digging down past sixty years of gravel and into the hard-pan to retrieve that 1895-S Barber Half . :icon_salut:

That Big Silver is Awesome!!

Wow, very cool finds, I need a Barber half!

The ring with the threaded stud is a rein guide for a carriage. The buckle looks like horse tack. The small two-headed wrench I had for my bicycle as a kid in the 60s. Nice find on the Barber half!

That's a Awesome find!!

I found my first silver half dollar today, mine was minted 47 years later. Lol

Totally awesome half! Barbers make beautiful halves and are on a lotta guys' lists. Congrats on crossing this off yours.

Steve

Looks like you were a busy digger! Very cool group of finds! Congrats on the Barber!

Man, that was sure a lot of digging for a Barber Half... but that's what makes it so sweet! :occasion14:

Congrats,
Dave
