I didn’t take my detector on the plane when we went to visit our daughter and her husband in New Mexico. I did do most of my morning walks in parking lots and parks looking for lost things and I did check the coinstar machine in the grocery store.
I only found one coin in the coinstar and it was a Mexican 5 centavos. It is dated 1995 and the o over M stands for the Mexico City Mint for those of you not familiar with the marking. The rest were just coins from the surface, parking lots and sidewalks as we toured around.
My daughter did say that her neighbors heard about my detecting and I have permission to detect all of their yards. I don’t know how good it will be because it is mostly just dirt with a few trees and cactus and the houses are not very old . No grass to hide things when you drop them, but it might be great. I’ll find out the next time we drive the 1,700 miles for a visit instead of flying.
Grand total for the trip was 30 coins with a face value of $1.26 (Mexican coin counts as part of the 30, but not in the value amount). Not great, but better than nothing. I am home now and should get out swingin tomorrow if the rain stops. Thanks for looking, stay safe, good luck and may your coil lead you to good things.
P.S.
Here are a few pictures of the tiny flowers and scenery from the area around Santa Fe where we were. This nice lizard stayed still long enough for me to take his picture. Most of them were shy and ran away as soon as I spotted them. The scenery is quite a change from what we have at home in Maryland. 🤓
