Looks interesting. Almost like cylinder for a lift. The nuts are modern. Would be fun to dig it out and see whats at the other end.

Be cool if it was a time capsule...

Jimmy Hoffa is inside of that thing I bet.

Those are pipe bungs with plugs in them. Might be a water tank or an accumulator for a well pump.

Nice digs. If it is copper, that well be a nice chuck of change for scrap.

My thoughts exactly! Lol!

If its's all copper it's a nice chunk of $$! Congrats hope you guys can haul it out!

My advice is to proceed with Caution. Make sure its not full of something. Just saying be careful.
Maybe it was part of a Still? Its being copper and all. Very exciting!

Better get a Bobcat !!! to dig it out!!!!! Good luck! I'm with wecoyote water tank or well pump

It might be just an inner old hot water tank, that could be a good return on digging it out. The metal could be just copper, cupronickel, and some high end tanks have a Monel content. Dig it up, get a nice payday.

Rich, you might get a chance to sing hi ho, hi ho its off to scrap yard I go for if it is copper a nice return for such a hard excavation, cant wait to see what you have, vanzutphen

Old hot water heater...
Old moonshine still...
