These are some of the sights I passed today along the road. I was going to head up to Green River Wyoming, but something came up were I'll need to be back in Denver by today, so I swung by a place in Marble, Colorado. After that I couldn't make it through the Glenwood canyon on I70 because they are closing the interstate from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM yesterday and today for rock fall control. I decided I'll take the road that goes through Crawford, Colorado and connect to highway 50 to Gunnison and from there I'll take a trip over Cottonwood pass. I spent some time up top of Cottonwood just to relax some and that's where I took the picture of the little bird. Coming into Leadville I took a picture of this old mine head frame with the sun setting behind it. This old head frame was moved to the location it is now from an old mine along with other old mine equipment in a place called String Town as that was the place all the silver ore from the the many mines was smelted back in Leadville's boom days.
