altered penny

Has anyone ever seen anything like this? It belongs to a friend of mine, who has had it for years, origin unknown.

I'm not sure, but I remember when they were selling these pennies. I think it's supposed to be JFK

Yea, me either, I knew it wasn't a mint thing, but I figured someone went to a heck of a lot of trouble to make a stamp to do just one

I posted my pic of one a few days ago seems I wasn't the only one who was confused about that coin. Mine is from 1967.

I have one too.I think they were produced to show the strange but true parallel between the two presidents.

I had one of those when I was a kid. Dont remember the year but early to mid 70s. Mine came on a small card.
