Hello All, nothing special here but it's too unique not to identify

Found on a site with mostly 40's-50's hunting camp trash

Looks like the circular pattern was a finger grip to pull the pins out of something, what I dont know.

Thanks for any ideas you all may have!

For some reason a light bulb or heating element is popping up in my head.

I keep thinking Jiffy Pop... need to stop looking at this forum :)

It's about an inch square, similar wall thickness as an aluminum can

Weird old trash I suppose, I just found it in a crazy spot in the middle of no where on a beach point in a cedar thicket.

I suspect the sides were folded up 90 degrees where the outer circle cuts off. When folded up like that the ends of curved wires will probably meet and would have been fixed to a insulated handle.

Thats my theory how it might have been originally configured but I don't know what it was.....:dontknow:

Part of the inside of an electron tube? (A guess)

I've seen this before too, but can't recall what it is.
Maybe it will come to me?

That looks like one of the cans that has the key thing and you twist it and it rolls open.

My money is still on some sort of vacuum tube component.
Similar to the one pictured here - 2nd from the right.

It's driving me a little crazy not being able to remember exactly which tube!
Maybe it really is something else? :dontknow:
Either way, I recognize it from somewhere...

I'm going to have to vote with the meter seal folks. I've seen plenty of vacuum tube plates but not one with the circular pattern you are showing. Of course, that doesn't mean such a thing does not exist ... I've just never seen one.

Does the circular portion (or anywhere else, for that matter) have any identification such as embossed letters?

I think these are what I was thinking of when I said light bulb or heating element. I'm just old enough to remember vacuum tube testers in the grocery store.

Yes my first thought too, cathode ray tube from an old TV or some radio tube maybe?
