Bunch of stops at random banks in a 4 small town tour searching for halves.

I should really learn to take better notes.......

2 rolls at bank 1 = 1 40%
1 ordered string box = (2) 40%

A teller says she has some "in a bag". $60 worth = (4) 40%
Next bank has $3.50 in loose = (1) 40%

Key bank 1. Has $60 worth, some of the rolls written on. (1) 40%, but 8 TOTAL proofs.

79,83,80,84,85,86 (liberty, not kennedy),90,91. Looks like someone turned in a collection. They said they could get more from the vault for me tommorow.....

Key bank 2. Teller said she has $6 worth loose. 7 40%ers in it. After waiting for 20 minutes they get me $80 worth from the vault, with 2 $20 half rolls. =(14) 40%ers.

In total (33) total 40%ers, and the 8 proofs! I couldn't be happier, my first good day!!
I'm not sure what to do with the proofs, since I'm not really a collector.

:icon_scratch: What country are the proofs from? I suppose they could be modern commemorative halves, but in 79 and 80 the mint didn't produce any modern commemorative halves. Only proof halves in 79 and 80 were Kennedy.

Pictures of the proofs Chin?

sorry, the 1986 is the liberty commerative, rest are kennedy I'll snap a pic. I had to get holders for them and I stapled one "backwards"....stupid rookie.

Neat Liberty Half Chin!

As for the proofs, you might be able to put them on "EvilBay" and make a small profit on them. But it seems like the other CRH'ers dump their proofs.

My thinking is: "Profit is profit". A dollar here, a dollar there adds up. If I come up with any proofs in my two boxes next week, I might list them.

nice finds. :icon_thumleft: Especiallythe Liberty commem. :)

Ebay it is....I'm in it for the silver, not the clad.

Nice job, Chinman. Good advice to always buy them all.
