Aufisher,
I will chime in with John, thank you for the pictures as they make life so much more interesting.

I can still recall many years ago at the confluence of the NFAR with the MFAR out back of Auburn, there was a Huge self propelled dredge maybe 30' long with a couple of good sized 4x4 trucks with winches helping to keep the dredge in place working the bottom. It would have been neat to see what they were getting however the guard with the rifle that was walking back and forth on the dredge gave me a clue that I should stay on the shoreline and not bother them.

Spring will indeed be interesting!..................63bkpkr

Great story 63! I bet there was some great dredge gold taken from that area!

Nice photos Aufisher! Thanks for sharing

Didn't even jump in the river this time Mojo! Must be getting a bit soft!

OR getting smarter as he ages as THAT water from all 3 forks requires a water heater on your dredge to go play in it this time a year. aaaaaa the many fond memories :occasion14: John

I think the water was just to warm for you.........

This is worse than I thought when they say you can't sell your rocks and minerals. What the hello?!

Gold panning is a fun healthy way to get out and enjoy nature. Of course its banned! Mabye the park keepers would be happy if everyone was banned from the park?

I just received an email from a friend that said ASRA is now hands and pans only? I went to the website and it says the same. Bullshit.

I would call the folks at pioneer mining in auburn, I know they are on top of what's going on over in the sra. Last I herd the hands and pans is not in effect and that the volunteers over there don't know the current regulations.
