An hour at a friend's house Part 2, the return
Hello Everyone,
I went back to my friend's house after work today, as the detecting season is quickly coming to an end. Once the ground is frozen, in Wisconsin, its OVER! At least, until spring.
Like before, I had one hour or so until sunset. Time was not on my side...again.
I went to the backyard first this time, and was very disappointed. Not a single coin, or anything except garbage. Yikes.
I moved back to the front yard, cranked up my sensitivity to 7, and swung very, very slowly.
I got a LOT of pulltabs, but some fun new items in areas I had already swept. And cleared out a newer area also. Plus, I got another first for me:
(22) Pennies (including a 1950 wheatie)
(3) Dimes
(1) Quarter
(1) Button
(1) Key
(1) Pin
(1) 1920 Buffalo Nickel (my FIRST Buffalo nickel!!!)
All in all, it wasnt a bad afternoon. Since I wasted over 30 min in the backyard (with NOTHING to show for it) it was just about 30 or so minutes on what I found. I have no regrets.
I hope a warm-front moves in the state for about 4 months or so, until the spring again blesses all of us detectors with "all day detecting". I think I may have to take a winter vacation to go metal detect someplace warmer
