I picked the 10"L x 5"W x 2-5/16"T brown stoneware block up today. It was tagged as just a "Masonry Stamp" and it was under $9.00. It's a bit heavy and I would guess it's around 8 pounds. It does appear that the patterned side has been pushed into a wet mortar or cement?. Does anyone think this is what it actually is or is it just some kind of decorative architectural piece, as I kind of think it may be. ? It does look old, like old stoneware would be.

Looks like a fancy firebrick for an upscale fireplace.

I have seen "glazed" bricks on exteriors of buildings.
It could be used as a stamp, but I can't imagine that the user would call it, "handy."

Yeah, A fancy firebrick for a fireplace was an afterthought of mine also. I bought it to maybe through out as a garden decoration. It be nice to know for sure what it is?
