An old letter stamp?

At first I thought I had pulled out a pawn from a chess set. But when I looked on the bottom I saw a carving of a flower. After doing some research on the Internet, I can only conclude that it must be an old letter stamp. Anyone familiar with these?

Yes, it looks like a rose wax seal letter stamp; part of an original kit that would be purchased at the same time.

I see that. But no. No lettering on mine.

they had a resurgence in popularity in the early 1970s when I was a kid, but you can still buy them today. kinda fun for special letters...
