Last weekend my wife and I went to South Padre Island last weekend, knowing that the week before was "BikeFest" there were supposed to be alot of bikes (motorcycles) there for that weekend. So we thought it would be good to go down there the following weekend. Well we got there on Sunday and after checking into our hotel we decided to hit the beach to see what we could find. Well didn't have much luck at first, our Ace250 didn't do very well by the water and I wasn't quite ready to wade into the water, (was a tad bit cool still). So after not finding anything we decided to try and hit up a volleyball court up by one of the hotels by where we were at. And much to my surprise I found this cross in the sand. It says "ATI" ".925" "Mexico"on the back. It's a nice thick silver cross. Didn't find too much other than that, just a little clad and a "cross" ring that looked like it had been stepped on. But had a great enjoyable weekend even though we didn't find much we had fun.

Nice cross found. :icon_sunny:

I've seen people detecting on the beach there. Wonder if its ok since its part of the national seashore.

Your talking about the other Padre Island I believe it's called North Padre. It's on the Corpus Christi side that's where the National Seashore is and yes that is a no-no for detectors. We were at South Padre which is a few hours down the highway from Corpus can't get to it from there. It's mostly all public beaches except for the State Park on the end of the island.

Kg6yll-Thanks I'm with you on that

Rob66-Thanks I thought so too ;D

My bad, you are correct. Just got through checking the maps
