...that's what I thought when I saw the silver come out if the ground!
Got out to two new sites yesterday and the first target was the silver that had been turned into a brooch. My first thought was that it was an ancient coin that was made into a brooch but some quick research found that it is a replica coin. Heart breaker! Felt a little better when I found the 1813 half penny token though.
Second site had been hunted before by another detectorist but figured I'd give it a shot anyway. The site was the home of a well known and well decorated WWI officer so I was stoked to find the rank pip! Very good chance this belonged to him.
Not a lot but some quality history recovered and preserved!
