Ancient Japanese swords

The top pic looks like a Edo Samurai, Muromachi Era. Is it's Koshirae wood or leather? Needs repairs.

Here is what my friend thinks he has so far.

I thunk it is Tanto. Pretty robust. Hamon is visible. Seems complete. There are two signatures. One on the small knife also.

They believe it is 16th - 17th century.

The Tanto does not have any wood or leather. The scabbard is
Is laquered wood which appears ebonized. It is an authentic sword @450 yrs old.

It's an older post but the characters on the blade appear to be 凊光作. Hope this helps your friend.
