I live in central California in the motherlode area, and this is not a gold post. I started it noticing it's a fossil when I was crushing open rocks... looking for a gold LOL and I always research everything like crazy so I found out that millions of millions of years ago the continent was split in two and this was once an Inland Sea. Like 500 million years ago or something. Pretty jurassic and all. Well then I learned about petrified fish because I kept finding rocks that looked like they had whole fish in them. Sometimes I could just vaguely see it. And then I read that they would break off in three different parts so the head would be one piece than the center skeleton and then the tale... sometimes they would be petrified whole but for the most part separately. I seen very few pictures online and could only find a very little information about it. But then I started seeing Fishin all of my rocks every single piece of quartz I could see the fish's head. It seems like a total and complete stretch and trust me I had to check myself if I was crazy and seeing fish heads in rocks. So I was getting excited about it at one point and went out one morning deciding where I was going to start hunting for the day in my yard and found a very very interesting piece of wood it is not ancient whatsoever. This thing is crazy. I live out in the middle of nowhere. Then I noticed the leaves on the tree I was next to where the same shape as some of these fish and then I noticed it when I was digging, even the clay would make the same shape as the damn fish... there was EVEN pieces of asphalt that broken off that were used to make our driveway that looked exactly like the dang fish. I ended up finally finding the correct keywords to search *soil manipulation ancient fossil fish* and read an article about DNA leaching that is the only thing that could explain this for me. That whole day I didn't even want to tell my boyfriend or acknowledge the fact that this was going on everywhere and THE DANG FISH DNA IS UP IN EVERYTHING that it shouldn't even be. And again I did a crazy check... It was the way the laundry was thrown on the floor, the way some water was splashed on our deck...everything looked like a dang fish. And I mean like almost exactly the same shape every time, everywhere. And I'm sure someone will say you know "don't think of an elephant..."but you can't not think of an elephant kind of thing... I felt so crazy I didn't want to even see the stupid fish at all! And then I finally DID tell my boyfriend about it and he started calling me crazy of course, and wouldn't really let himself look...but he did acknowledge multiple of my fish sightings in the house...Anywho I also do have gold on the property so I had to stop with this fishy nonsense but this piece out of wood that was sitting on the surface next to a tree that had been chopped down sometime in the past few years is mind-boggling. The mouth just kills me.. I apologize for the photos, I didn't take money so if you are just screen grab some more video and he's super delicate so I took him out right now to take a picture he crumbled a little bit and he's being glued together for his preservation. Enjoy! And I'm more than interested to see if anyone who ever heard of anything like this?!
I had some screenshots of some of the random web searches on the ancient fish and their petrified fossil bodies.
* respectfully, I asked her if you have nothing nice to say to please just move along and say nothing at all. * thanks
