Got out yesterday for a few hours with good friend Aquachigger and man we had a blast checking a new site. My total for the day was 46 bullets and sinkers (most of which made from bullets), a nice brass key, a complete sabot from an Archer, partial sabot from a hotchkiss, and a sweet 12lb Ball.

Many of the sinkers have been made in a variety of ways. Some were simply holed, or hammered and holed to look or take the shape of sinkers we know. Others were slit, and used as we do modern split shots (made from a three ringer, .46 ball, and the nose of a spencer). The shell looks to be a CS Bormann, and was one of the final targets I hit of the day. We did a ton of digging, Beau likewise tore it up and went home with a nice US buckle.

Can't wait for the next trip out which will be very soon.

Dan
