I have a few questions about this tack I found. It is quite larger than the last one that I found.

Age and potential use is the biggest thing I want to know on this one.

I do not know the age, but I'd guess it is an upholstery tack.

I gave you information in your other post. I'm not an expert, and my knowledge relates to guns, but I have found out that there is an outfit today that sells square shank brass tacks. Supposedly it wasn't until around 1875 that iron shanks were in use. Here is a link that might help you.
