Got into a newer spot recently, didn't find much but a few shot bullets and this nice 1862 Indian head. This makes an 1861, 1862 and two 1863 Indian heads in the past few months! Now for my question to all the coin guys, I've cleaned this with hot peroxide, weak lemon juice and gentle rubbing with olive oil to get it where it is now. Still however can't get all the green grunge off. any tips? thanks for looking and Happy hunting!

not an expert but i use tooth picks to get the tough stuff off

Well I use Earth Brite. It's a strong cleaner made up of a special clay and oil (mostly). It works really nicely when you use a wire brush with it. WARNING: It's easy to jack up the coin using a wire brush or anything of the kind, so I would take a test penny and get the technique down. If you use it gently enough it'll look brand new.
