Wow! awesome hunt

Great job on the half cent!

Hi; What's he address ?? :laughing7: PEACE:RONB

Very beautiful 1829 large cent! :read2: History lesson time - the early US copper large cent blanks were often shipped thousands of miles from their place of manufacture to the US mint to be stamped later. The blanks were stored in with the ballast stones of these wooden merchant ships and often were at sea for many weeks - even months. Leaks in the ship's hulls often led the blanks to be in contact with salt water for quite some time leading to pitting and corrosion. So by the time the blanks reached the US mint they were often already quite damaged. Many early US large cents would have been already pitted even when they were freshly stamped out at the US mint as a result of this.

Any ideas on the button in the third picture?

Congrats on your first Half Cent. That is in better shape than the ones I have found. Great find.

Awesome hunt and Sweet finds!! That half cent is looking good. The soil there has been good to all your finds, that buffalo is even looking good.

Nice going. You're on some good dirt. Half cents to come up all that often.

Man what a mix of great stuff ! Virgin hot spot--:occasion14:

NICE FINDS FOR SURE...

All half cents are good, and some are better than others. Yours is a nice one! That button is probably a scarce one, but I am fascinated with that 1919 nickel. I haven't seen many that nice come out of the ground. (..and I'm old! :D)
Good Luck!
