Another day at the beach

Just got back from the beach and thought I'd share what we found.. A ring, two pennies, a bunch of tent stakes ( almost as bad as the bottle caps which went straight to my oldest ones' pocket) and something that drove my detector crazy.. Have no idea what it is, covered with sea shells and barnacles, but we kept it anyways..

Thanks. All I know about it so far is its covered with sea shells, it weighs about a pound and is as big as my hand. Also a magnet won't stick to it..

Well I was in everything mode and lit up as iron so I expected it to be magnetic but it wasnt... It looks like it has pieces of iron in it but just don't know... I'll post another pic maybe y'all might can figure it out..

Well not any closer to figuring out what this is.. I cut it in two and there seems to be a shape of something inside.. The outside is non magnet but the shiny spot is magnet.. It put off a lot of black dust when I cut it, hope it wasnt toxic, but o well is done now.. The dust smell was like a burnt firecracker.. I can still smell it an hour later... Here is a pic after cutting it... Any body got any ideas?

Is that inner grayish part square? Or is that from cutting?

Yea the grayish part has squared edges and the shiny part in the middle is oval looking.. And the shiny center is the only thing magnetic.. And heavy, a pound or So.. Probably just a piece of junk..
