Neat old find... although I'm not quite sure what a fibula is (other than the bone).... Please explain more for those of us who only know coins, haha. :)
 

Hi bscofield6, these fibulas worked almost the same way as the modern safety pins. They were used to fasten clothes (buttons were unknown for this purpose); besides that they had a decorative function.

I have seen a lot of fibula,s and I have found a lot of fibula,s.

and I can,t see A fibula In your find.

do you have A reference maybee ???
