Another Hunt Another Copper

Got out with Frank yesterday to a new spot and got this spectacular copper. The detail is amazing. Looks like it was dropped right out of the mint. It was at the lip of the hole about 4" down.

This makes copper 13 for the year & copper 99, hopefully I can get 100 before the year is over.

Beautiful 1817 Matron Head Large Cent ! A dream coin find for sure, and as you say, it was probably a brand new coin when it was dropped. What a great find !
