Hey all, went detecting at my spot in the woods tonight with my brother and another guy in our detecting club. Found this about an inch deep at the base of a tree. 1880 Indian Head.

Nice find. Love finding IH's. Your a brave guy going in the woods this time of year. Ticks, poison ivy ect; ect;. I'm scared of all that.

The ticks were bad for awhile but haven't had any on me the past few times I went out. It's the damn mosquitos that I can't stand. 40% Deet bug spray and they still manage to sneak in somehow.

Yeah, a few hours after the woods this time of year I am bleeding from the sticker bushes or itching from the bugs and ivy.

Pick up something called a Thermacell... These are magic to keep skeeters and flies away. You can pick them up at Wal-mart, Bass Pro for around $20. Does nothing for ticks but it is the right tool for skeeters. Good luck...

Yeah, a few hours after the woods this time of year I am bleeding from the sticker bushes or itching from the bugs and ivy.

Yup, I always soak in a hot bath afterwards for relief.
