Went out to my Jesuit site today with the old "Super Sniper" and found quite a few more things. Another Jesuit ring (5 this summer), this is the first one I have found of this variation.

Some kind of jewellery thing with a piece of glass in it (I assume it's glass).

What are the chances of a 1981 dime being mixed among the old stuff? I thought it was a real old coin when I first found it.

Musket balls.

More copper pieces and tinkle cones.

Some kind of small glass button.

Nice finds! Boy those Jesuits sure lost a lot of rings. It'd be nice to see a group shot of your five Jesuit rings in the same photo!

What?? Did those guys wear rings on every finger?

"If I grow up I'll be a singer wearing rings on every finger..."

But then again maybe they wore them someplace else :laughing7:

The black disc in the jewellery may be Jet, a semi precious stone found here in the UK it was used quite a lot in Victorian mourning items.
I like the Jesuit rings you find over there, nice historical items. Something that I wont be able to dig this side of the pond.

Nice bunch if finds! Congrats! I like the ring, button, and different size musket balls!

Duane,

Nice find on the Jesuit ring.....and for info to the other posters these rings were given to the natives by the Jesuits also believe they were worn above the first knuckle rather than the 2nd knuckle which is the custom today which probably explains why so many were lost.

Regards + HH

Yeah the button is really cool, is it glass?, or some sort of mother of pearl.

The clear one seems to be cut glass and the black one is still undetermined.

The small 'button' is one of the earliest types of linked button / Cuff Link, circa 1680-1720!

I wonder if the black glass or jet was meant to have something incised into it & it never happened. Maybe even a wax seal??

did you see the jesuit ring they recovered on that new show, Treasure Quest, on Snake Island? I was wondering if any of yours resembled that one at all?

Just downloaded Treasure Quest...haven't watched it yet.

Very nice collection. I imagine you have found a village.
Have you noticed any arrowheads.

Yep the one on the show has the same markings but that one was very large. Those Jesuits got around.
