Another "NewBie"

I'm form the fourth coast area of NY, that's the St. Lawrence for the uninitiated and I just bought my first ever detector, a Fisher F22, waiting patiently for it to arrive. Been looking at all kinds of You Tube vids for tips and how the machine works, can't wait to hit my 4 acres and start making some holes in the ground.
would appreciate any tips you all may have specific to the F22, but also for beginners in general. BTW it was my 74th birthday present from my wife, just to get me out of the house, I think.

Recommend searching for a metal detecting club in your local area, you will find folks that can help you get started - though COVID might have caused many clubs to go virtual for the foreseeable future.
