I know, it's totally worthless, but, it's something I'd still like to I.D. Copper or brass on the one end. Inside is hard to tell what metal it is. It's so encrusted I can't break that stuff off without destroying the item. I've been soaking it for days and picked at it with an ice pick to remove a lot of the crud. the knob sticking out has two square holes in it, so, probably something attached there at one time. The knob is bent at an angle too in relation to the round plate. Two screw go through the plate into the mess on the inside. Maybe an old door knob assembly? Fishing reel? I'll probably take a hammer to it soon to see if I can find out more info.
