Got out with L4S this morning to a handful of new places. First stop was an old picnic grove that used to have an old ball diamond which is now long gone. First up was a wheatie and a few minutes later a 43' Merc. Cool, were in a good spot. A few more wheaties and 20 minutes later, I got an IH/Wheatie signal. Well, the numbers were bouncing between IH and wheatie but the tone was slightly higher. I dig down about 5" and a silver pops out. See "One Dime" through the mud and think cool, a Barber. Flip it over and was shocked to see it was a Seated. An 1891.
Maybe this place is older than we thought it was going to be.
We ended up staying there for another 40 minutes or so, before deciding to head over to our next spot. We'll be keeping this spot on the list and head back when the weather is a little nicer.
The 2nd spot didn't produce anything for me except for some clad so I'll skip over to our 3rd and final spot for the day. We were just down the street from a picnic grove I dug a Merc and some wheaties at last week so I asked L4S if he wanted to check it out and he was down. Ended up with another Merc, a 24', and some more wheaties before calling it a day. We'll be back to this spot as well I'm sure as L4S absolutely killed it in just a small little area and claimed it as his new favorite spot!
HH Everyone!
