Hey everyone,
I saw that it's supposed to rain here in Seattle for most of the back-half of the week so I got out today for a couple hours to hit a couple of spots I've been eyeing.
The first site were the sidewalk strips outside a house where the sale is pending so it is empty. The house was built in 1905 so I thought there might be some good stuff there. A few signals in I pulled a 1945-S wheatie from really deep down, maybe 8"+. While it was a good sign to find it, it also had me worried that there was probably a layer of sod put down when the house was remodeled in 2008 (found that out through Zillow).
I kept on going and actually didn't find anything else old there. At one point I was getting a solid 83 on the DFX at 1" and was thinking that I'd least I'd get another quarter to add to my haul. Wow! I was pretty surprised when this popped out:

It's a big 925 ring. It's actually a little big to even fit my thumb. I love the celtic-inspired design too. Definitely one of my favorite rings I've found.
I had a bit more time so I went to the sidewalk strips outside my neighbor's house where I got permission to go last night, but didn't have time in the moment. I'd been patiently digging nickel signals all day and it paid off! Only one old coin in those strips but it was a 1945-S war nickel.
I love that as a bonus I've gotten to know a lot of my neighbor's through this hobby.
Overall, another great, short hunt.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting folks!
