Afters Thursdays three Barber day, it was gonna be hard to do that again, but I thought I would at least try. Started on Saturday with a buddy who just got
a new Garrett AT pro, I took him over to a local park and just had him follow me around and listen to targets I found first.

I wanted him to know what a penny or a dime sounded like as opposed to trash and we were able to find quite a few coins in an hour or so. After we had been
going for awhile, I got a real good 27-28 signal and told him, if this was anywhere but this pounded out park, I would say this had a good chance of being a
silver coin.

No sooner I dig the plug and plop it out, a silver rim is sticking out! Once I got it out and got it cleaned up, I saw it was a 1918 Merc! Wow, this was the first
time anyone saw me dig a silver, it was soooooo cool!:headbang:

Sunday I drove an hour away to try another new town, but didn`t have any luck in three hours, other than a cool bank token, so on the way back I stopped in a little town ten minutes from home and door knocked a 1905 house, the guy said go for it, so I spent a couple hours there and after awhile, got a solid 26 signal, once I got the plug out, a silver dime surfaced, and when I cleaned it off saw "one dime" again, another Barber dime!!

Monday I got another permission and spent a couple more hours at a house built around 1910, first good target was a 1936 Buffalo! About twenty minutes
later I got a booming 31-32 and dug a big plug hoping for a silver quarter, I was right this time and very surprised when I saw it laying at the bottom of the
hole, when I sprayed it off I saw my third Barber quarter in less than two weeks, wow!!!

I don`t know how I`m finding these lately other than not being afraid to knock on doors and checking out new places.???

Looks like you were rewarded with some nice finds after helping your friend out. I love the patina on the buffalo nickel. Not having found any type of silver coin yet, naturally I am jealous-Ha! Good for you for getting up the gumption to knock on doors and ask permission, something I haven't done yet. It would be interesting to read a description one day, target by target, of how the signs and sounds compare on two different detectors following one after the other, as you and your friend did. It is a perfect way to compare the strengths of two detectors in real time. Thanks for the post and photos.

Nice find Dparson05. I found reference to the bank that says the bank opened its doors in 1881. That means that puppy may have come out in 1991!

Isn't it fun finding those Barbers? I just love diggin' 'em. The 1907 and 1918 dimes were pretty good too. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! I like those barbers. Nice saves. Congrats

You are killing it! Congratulations on all the great finds.

Got a big silver in there. You had a stellar weekend..

Nice story and very nice finds, congrats! :icon_thumleft:

Door knocking and getting permissions at old homes is the best, even if they don't produce- great finds and keep up the good work!
