Hey everyone! Well, the Southern #630 has left here for Winston Salem and then Roanoke. It was nice to have her around. Many wonderful memories. Anyway, went to the tracks to watch her one more time and found this wooden sign covered in old sticks and leaves

. Should I get it restored, or leave as is? HH and God Bless!

It does not seem to be that old, how long have contact lenses been around?

I'm not sure. Saw it and I liked it. Sure it's got some age. Interesting.

"Some reports say German glassblower F.A. Muller used Herschel's ideas to create the first known glass contact lens in 1887. Other reports say Swiss physician Adolf E. Fick and Paris optician Edouard Kalt created and fitted the first glass contact lenses to correct vision problems in 1888."

Sweet, I would leave it like it is!

American Diggers would probably value that thing at least $11,500. I suggest you hide it on your property, invite them to come look for relics, and split their take. :laughing9:

Haha, ya hide it under a large deck so they have to tear it apart and waste half their day and supposedly put it back together
