My grandfather gave this to me back in 1974. The story he told me was as follows.

Shortly after WW2 a man came to grandpas fruit ranch looking for work. The man was fresh out of the service and was given a job and use of the workers cabin. After being there about a week the man left. He never returned and left everything he owned in the cabin including this coin.

Everything is silver. The chain looks to be hand made.

It's a British military "Indian Mutiny Medal" with a bar/clasp awarded for service in the recapture of Delhi, May 30 - September 14, 1857.
