Yes, I think mine are from a 3.7 inch, there was a battery up at jenny cliff, I find tons of it from the Plymouth blitz probably.

Does anyone know what anti aircraft shells look like before there fired ? Do they put pieces of shrapnel inside or just t he shell separates ?

Yes, they reach a certain height and the timer on the fuel sets them off.
