Hello,

First post here. Thank you for looking. My cousin bought a bunch of items at an estate sale and found the pictured item in a bin. No one has any idea of what it is, but it is in great condition. It seems to be a holder of some sort as the center portion is spring-loaded. It seems to be able to be mounted to something on either end by two small brass screws.

The item is approximately 4.5 inches long.

Any ideas of what this is?

Thank you for your attention and replies!

I'm not sure what this is :dontknow:and I too thought horse bit at first glance, but at 4 1/2" it would have to be a very small horse.

I really want to say that it is a material clamp used in sewing or on a sewing machine, but haven't found one on the net yet.

When you blow up the second photo as large as you can, it appears as though it has patent information stamped on left side of the rounded bar. Can you tell what it says?

Could be a one for a pony, but even then, it's really rather small for that. It's literally the size of a large handle for a dresser.

I cannot see what you are referring to in the photo. I've messaged my cousin to see if there is any markings on it. If memory serves from yesterday, there weren't any markings I could see. I'll keep you posted.
