Antique cast iron cobbler's shoemaker's anvil

I get to my detecting site and right away I hit this aluminum tone and dig 2 to 3 inches and find the hole bottle. 1924 001.webp Than I start detecting up a hill in the woods and find a 1924 Lincoln cent about 4 inches deep. 1924 005.webp I'm going uphill and get an overload and look down to see just the small cast iron end of the shoe horn sticking out of the ground.I wish I had the camera with me so I didn't have to lug this all the way back to the car. I looked on ebay and couldn't find one like this so I don't really know what it is or was used for.1924 002.webp It's 11 5/8 inches long.1924 003.webp1924 004.webp

Nice finds congrats!

Funny how the old stuff was made to last. I doubt they will be finding much of our modern trash in a hundred years, except maybe styrofoam!

Nice overload signal find there !
