I have no idea, but because of the outriggers that must be intended to help keep people with my balance and athletic powers from falling down; which then causes me to have a swag saying they are training skates of some sort. I sure hope someone has the facts on these.
Interesting, they appear to be more like short skis, in that there's no way you could push yourself along like on skates. Skis of that variety are made today, but they aren't 10" tall... I would have expected them to be maker marked, to let folks know who made such a great innovative apparatus. Maybe they were a prototype
Surely not used on ice, you need a thin, concave blade for that. Maybe it's purpose was more like gaining a few inches of height than for skating, just my guess.
Sheet rock hangers use stilts. Do you suppose that it's something someone invented so he would be taller and able to work construction without having to climb a ladder to accomplish what ever he was doing?
