Hi there, I found an old trunk at my cottage and would like to know what could be its value. I don't see any brand on it, but I can see the writing '' farine Lacte Nestle Vevey Suisse''.
With the dome-topped, I found they were more expensive than others. I'm wondering if someone could tell me more about that trunk. what could be its story, could Henri Nesle had own this, would it change its value? Thanks in advance

Looks to be early 1900s. "farine Lactée Nestle Vevey Suisse" appears several times if you google search that term, and I think it is Finnish. Maybe try to pop this website into google translate and see what it says:

In my 30 years of dealing in antiques I've found that Dome Top Trunks are more difficult to sell since they can't be repurposed for a coffee table...

It's French (Swiss)!

"Farine Lactée' was a babyfood formula made from cow's milk, wheat flour and sugar for use by mothers who couldn't breastfeed. Launched in 1867 by the Henri Nestlé company, based in Vevey, Switzerland.
