Hello,

I,m looking at buying a detector, but there is soooo many out there. Also, I,m really looking at the upper end market. Ok,I,w explain. I want to use it also in our daily work if possible and not just for a hobby.

So far I research the minelab 5000 pro, Garret 2500 and then somebody sent me info on this. Made in germany.

For work,undeground voids, cabling and stuff. (if this is tooo much,then I,w stick just to the hobby side.

Due to our currency devluating against the U$, this can get extremely expensive for me,and thus I really need to do proper research.

Underground utility locating and metal detection are two different things. Fisher Research Laboratory - manufacturer of metal detectors for homeland security, industrial and hobbyists alike manufactures products in both categories. We have distribution in Germany for both product lines.

Regarding OKM products, no need for me to say what I think of 'em, others have already done so. The search function should pull up plenty of posts.

Two recommendations:

Listen to Woof! (he develops detectors professionally).

Buy from a dealer.

There are so many crappy, clone or counterfeit detectors being marketed now that you should really know who you are buying from.
