First time hunting at this SW Georgia School complex and found 119 coins total: 46 quarters, one which was a 1913-D silver Barber quarter; 37 clad dimes, 2 nickels, and 34 pennies(1 was a wheat cent)....That's $15.64 face value

O.K.....Here are the pictures:

P.S......the quarter is bent, worn, has edge damage, and a lot of obverse gouges.....but still worth silver melt!!
The interesting thing is I plugged the hole, and saw the coin down about 7 inches, sticking out of the left bottom side of the hole with the tip of the right wing just barely showing, so it was face down. Pulled it very carefully from the hole by hand.....SO, I was very surprised of the obverse damage. But it was found on a football field near the goal line, so maybe it was football shoe cleat damage, after it was dropped or, I guess it could have been damaged before it was dropped....BUT in any case, my first Barber Quarter this year....I guess I will take it and mark it off my list....lol.

MY BACK HURTS THINKING ABOUT DIGGIN THAT MUCH-LOL--NICE HUNT :icon_thumright:

Excellent. I'll take that amount of clad any day.

Nice finds. Had a day in Athens, GA on a soccer field where almost made 100 coins by ignoring penny hits. It was a nice change of pace.

You must be worn out from all that digging!

Great day, I would take one like that anytime!

It always amazes me at how much money is in the ground. I was hunting a local school today also for about 2 hours and got a little over $6. HH...

The 1913-D silver Barber Quarter is my 18th silver coin for the year!!
