Or even better, have a guide book on Mexico/Hacienda Tokens? I have a small, copper one-- irregular hammered shape, with the word "ANZO" on the face of it. There looks to be a squarish border of dots above it.

There is also an inscription above 'ANZO" which looks like "Y NC" or something like that. I have never seen another Latin American token (and I assume its a late 1700s to mid 1800s hacienda token) like it. Anybody have a guide book that might list it as a known type?? Thanks!

I note a few years ago you attempted to get the same token ID-on another Forum.
What constructive feedback did you get after Mar.8,2011?
Can you now give us a pic of both sides?

Wow, you remember that? ha ha. Have gotten NO positive ID on it. There is no mistaking the word "ANZO" on the front, so if no one can track down a similar hammered/lumpy copper token with that word on it, I'm afraid a picture won't make any difference. I can tell you it's a little bigger than a US dime in diameter but thicker...reverse is blank.

I'd have to dig it out of the vault and scan it. In the mean time.... you have information on an "ANZO" latin american token?

What makes you believe it's a MX hacienda token versus one from Puerto Rico or another country? Did you find it in Mexico? If so, in what state?

Wasn't dug-- bought about 10 years ago but with no attribution background with it. I am assuming it is from Mexico as that is where the lion's share of hacienda tokens are from, but it could be from another Latin American country. Who knows-- maybe it was even struck in Texas or New Mexico.

Thanks-- I will check out those angles. A Mexico connection would be the most likely I think.
