I found this circular item last week along with a 3 ringer, Gardner and a round ball, it measure about 1" in circumference and has what appears to be leaves on the outer ring and dots on the inner ring with rays coming to the center with what looks like a flower petal of sometime. IMG_0994.webp

Judging from its size and design, I'd say it's probably a civilian dress button of the period. Can you post a sharp closeup of the back?

That what I thought when I first dug it up, I forgot to mention it has a small hole at the top and one almost in the middle. As you can see from the back it is hollow with no shank. I am still new to this picture taken with a digital camera.

Looks like buttons I have found. 19th century. Could have been the top of a 2 piece soldered button. Is there any soldering left?

No solder marks that I can see. If it is a button then why is there a small hole at the top and one almost in the middle?

Your digital camra should have a micro setting for closeups. It usually displays an emblem of a little flower. Monty

At first glance, he rosette item appeared to be a finial or an ornament that would be nailed as a decoration on a box, or the like.

Although, the hole is slightly off-center which may discount this idea...craftsmen typically are perfectionist.
