Hi there karib2517 looks to be some kind of lead seal. Can you tell if there are any broken wires?
 

Ill guess that its a lead seal.They used to use them on electric meters and telephone boxes.Crimp it on the wire and if someone tampered with it they could tell.Everyone uses plastic tags nowadays.Interesting find though.
 

seems to had have a wire on it,there is a little loop that is smashed down. its heavy like lead . it does look like a seal thanks.
 

Looks like a Norfolk & Western Railway seal. Nice, might find a matching lock in the area.

Yuppers... Norfolk and Western Railway (N&W). I agree, lead seal.
 

any idea how old it is?
