Any ideas Found at an early 1900's or older home site

Too heavy to be aluminum, nothing on the back. Appears to be a man holding rifle/shot gun?? Disregard the other item. Thanks in advance for everyone's help.

any evidense that anything may be missing from back?did it come out of ground like that...or cleaned?does it lie flat or domed?

May have had something on back hard to tell. Yes it is cleaned. Appears to lay flat...thanks

that "other" item looks like a heel plate Civil War era. Which is pretty dang cool. but the item in question, im goin with Bigfoots idea
