I found this (eyeballed it), at an old dump.
I first thought it was a 'large canteen', but it has a spot on the bottom where it was 'soldered to something".
It is threaded, has one rounded side, the other has a rim.
Maybe an old auto part?

Gas tank?

Awfully small, & has no place for a 'gas line'.

I believe it is an old flask that was spot-welded to a moveable arm and was mounted on an International tractor. That way one could have "refreshment" while tilling the field for next year's corn crop.

I also have some ocean-front property at the back of my house if anyone is interested.

I had a honda trail 90 that had a spare round tank mounted behind the seat that looks similar. When I bought it, the owner said it didn't run. He never lifted the seat and found the real gas tank. I poured some in and it started right up.
