Any ideas on what this copper star may be?

It is about 2" in diameter, i found it at the site of my in-laws homestead.
 

What does the other side look like?

The back is flat with just the star punch out, i was thinking a concho of some sort but wasnt sure since there is no sign of a fastener.
We found some WRA Co. and Peters HV shells in the same area.

Size show with ruler. Might be part of Roy Rodgers holster belt

Given its size, and with no evidence of attachment points, my guess is that it is a rosette insert to a tin back rosette similar to this one:

Instantly thought Cap gun belt as mentioned above. Although that Texas Star Appears on EVERYTHING the closer you get to Texas the more you see it!
