I dug this today at my 1800s house permission. At first I thought it might be part of a buckle but it seems too fragile for that. It looks like there were 2 clips or something on the back. I believe its brass but not sure. It's not magnetic. Bends easily. It's pretty cool I'd like to know what it was if anyone has any ideas. Thanks for looking.

Ladies dress sash/belt buckle.

I thought buckle when I saw it too but it's so flimsy and with the lack of any other pieces on it I wasnt sure. The property has been occupied since the mid 1800s.

I just found it on the internet. It's a 1930s faux victorian era steel cut sash buckle. Not as old as I hoped but still kinda cool.
