Looking to see if there are any fellow MN artifact hunters here. I am brand new to this hobby. Well versed in metal detecting and agate hunting but a greenhorn in this category.

Looking for advice on this exciting hobby and people in the area with their results.

I didn't find any of these. They are all gifts for my States Collection I put together.

Greetings from Faribault and welcome to the forum. You came to a great place with very knowledgeable people to help you get started. I have spent a lot of time looking for artifacts but still haven't found anything very good so far. That's not stopping me from continuing to try, as it's mostly a matter of finding the right place to look. The key is getting permission from land owners as most public land it is illegal to remove artifacts. I imagine you may already be accustomed to that since you metal detect but I though it worth mentioning.

Like you, I also collect agates. They're everywhere around here. I have grown quite the collection. Now my brain has shifted gears and wants me to find artifacts.

Found a Native American hammer stone near Long Lake by Acton Mn this spring. It was in a plowed corn field that I have permission to hunt.
