Looking at buying either a xp deus or an e trac at the moment but was wondering if there are any new detectors coming out in 2016 that i should maybe wait for.

it sounds like some brands need an upgrade from what i have read, how long do they usually wait to bring out a new model?

I understand Quest will have 3 new ones out soon. (Tongue in cheek):laughing7:

New models will come out continuously. If you keep waiting, you'll never buy one! :laughing7:

No I will probably buy one in a few weeks just seeing if any were coming out in a month or two

Glad they don't come out with a new detector as frequently as they do new cell phones. By the time you open the box on a new detector, it's outdated !!!

I dont know that I would want to get a brand new line of detector as soon as it comes out. Seems like whenever a new one comes out they end up having to work bugs out of the early models for awhile.

We have all been there, wait or buy now? The funny thing is the detectors currently for sale work just fine. Heck, some of the older ones are still pretty good too. The comment about avoiding a brand new model is probably good advise, if it is from one of those manufacturers who tend to push their new product out the door early and wait for complaints. No point being a tester.

I do not know if this counts, but the CTX 303 just got a new hardware upgrade to help a couple of issues.

I ended up buying one.

Thanks Bart!

Yep, just like MS new versions.

Unfortunately the ctx 3030 is a bit out of my price range but I hear good things about it

You can't go wrong with the Etrac or even an SE Pro. Most everything that comes out is just the same single freq technology repackaged with a few more bells and whistles

I heard from a reliable source that Fisher is developing a new machine for the upcoming year. From what I was told it's unlike anything on the market today.

There definitely are! Jus sayin'

Still gotta dig those low/mid tones for that gold and high tones for the silver coins etc...
