We gots lots of folks good at iding things...if you could provide a measurement in mm of the diameter of the coin and if you have a scale a weight in grams to two decimal points would help immensely.
It sure looks like it had some damage before it got in the dirt and much more after...you may never find out what it was but it's fun trying!
