Any recomended reading for a rookie?

Just purchased my first detector over e-bay, and was wondering if there are any good metal detecting books ya'll could recomend before my detector shows up next week.

Even better than books, spend the time going to your local library looking up old photos, articles and historic documents from the area. Look for any old places people would gather and talk to old timers.
