Any Safari owners here any reports??

Guess nobody's going to answer you Jim. The Safari posts appear to me too have dryed out. What's the deal?? I was almost ready to make the leap.

johnnycat... I don't know if any body bought one i wanted to get one also but it seems like every one is staying away from them........or staying away from giving any reviews on them.............................==Jim_K==

Here's my take on this subject, it's a supposedly better or revamped Quatro, it's very expensive, so who wants to be a guinea pig at the price they want, not me. I myself would wait until there are some good reviews from members here. Come winter time there will be some good deals on used Explorers, these are proven machines, and you should be able to get a darn good deal on a very good detector at half the price of a new safari. Just my take, I love minelab detectors, minelab and their dealers probably won't like me for posting this but that's ok. Here's a pic of my Sovereign.

Gary , That Sovereign looks sharp now let me know how it is working now that you got it back. Did you get the new sit up from Keith or did you do it?....... Jim

If the ground has allot of iron and junk, the E-trac will do better since it has a faster processor. But the Safari will do just as well as the EX 2. With out all the bells and whistles .The Safari is designed to run in High T/D and the Quattro didn't run well in that setting( hell it didn't run at all ).Most people will think its just a up dated model ,and will be afraid to buy it. They will be missing out on a great turn on and go detector.I'm selling mine not because its a peace of junk...because I don't need four detectors that pretty much do the same thing.I also like bells and whistles...But thats just me.

Some findswith the Safari
Found a few IH's ,a garter belt clip, and some military buttons ( I think ) mounted on a copper pin( I think that's what it is),,,not sure .I never saw anything like it .The Star button has the letters..SFGCP between the star points. If anyone knows what it is please let me know. The home were I was searching was built in the 1840's.

Ref Star Button: GC & SF = Gulf Colorado & Santa Fe Railroad.

Nice Digs.

I have a new Safari and I am having a devil of a time figuring out how to use it. The sounds are all alien to me since I have used Garrett equipment ever since I started metal detecting. It's like trying to learn a different language with no teacher! I can't even figure out if it is working right. Several guys have offered advice, but this machine doesn't always do what the advisors say it will do? I need to get with someone who has a Minelab machine and get an opinion. Monty
